Here are some suggestions on how to protect yourself and your family from EMR
Some tips...
Check where EMR is present in your home, you can do this with a EMR detector, these can be purchased from a number of websites listed on the useful links page and below. Or contact the JMMCG and we will arrange for you to borrow one. There will be more than you think!
- try to use a landline if possible
- don't use your mobile phone for long periods of time and if you can use a hands free (corded)
- if you use the internet have a wired connection to your pc and not wifi. Make sure your wifi is disabled on your pc. Don't put lap tops directly on your lap. All this means if having a Modem or Router and a wire to your PC(s).
- don't sleep with a mobile phone or cordless phone by your bed, and switch mobiles off at night if you can
- don't put mobile phones in trouser pockets
- don't use mobile phones in cars, the signals bounce around in the car and increase the exposure (another reason for hands off!)
- have corded phones in your house, cordless (or Dect) phone constantly emit EMR they are like mini base stations in your home!
- have wired baby monitors, if it is wireless don't have it right next to the baby
- it has been suggested by many leading scientists that children should not be using mobile phones and if they do they should only have them for emergency reasons
- ask your school if they have wifi and if so are they aware of the concerns and what are they doing about it
Basically any wireless device will increase the amount of Electro Magnetic Radiation you are exposed to.
If you are close to a mast and you are getting alot of EMRs in your living areas then it is important to protect yourself, probably most of all in your bedroom as this is where you spend the most of the time when in the house and when the body rests. There are special wallpaper/paint/curtains to stop the radiation waves entering your home.
